My New Year's Eve Party 2009
Today is New Year’s Eve 2009. I have always loved the idea of going to a wild loud fun party each year on this day. Do I ever have a party to go to? No. I’m about to steal an idea from one of the people I follow on Twitter. @LittleAnimation had a wonderful question a month or two back: “If you could have a party with all of your Twitter friends, what kind of party would it be?” Well, I thought about it for a minute and thought, “Masquerade Ball”. I mean, really. I would want to try and figure out all of the personalities I see on Twitter first without having to see looks.
Then it hit me. I really want to know what makes my followers and people I follow tick mentally. What makes up their personalities? Looks are nice, but I’d rather hear the inflection of their voice, the personality, and what makes them who they are. So I have a list of people that I want to invite to my New Year’s Eve party and the list is quite long. Bear with me. Go follow these wonderful people on Twitter and read their blogs. It’s the closest thing I can get to knowing who they are.
Firstly, there’s @WhyIsDaddyCryin. I read his blog and I see the humor first. I don’t mean this unkindly, but I sense it is a social mask. I would love to be at a party with him, but it would drive me crazy because I wonder what is behind that fun-loving personality. I sense a quiet kind of vulnerability that I would only see in moments when he is reading to his children a bedtime story. It’s that person I would love to know more about.
Gillian, @mccall49, is the closest thing to a sister/friend I could ever have. I hate the fact she is on a totally different continent, because this tender, caring, loving woman sounds like someone I could just be myself around. We could laugh, cry, and be just downright silly and it would just feel “right”.
Norman, @iBeeNORM, is someone I haven’t quite figured out. He is the older brother to @WhyIsDaddyCryin. I never compare the two because I know it would be unfair to even try. I would love to know what makes him “tick”. It drives me nuts that I can’t quite figure him out. I would need at least a good half hour in person with him just to feel out his personality. I think he’d be one of those practical jokers that no one would believe did it.
Another enigma in the same vain is @OpinionatedGift. He’s politically passionate, yet has a vulnerable side that I can only see in his blog. Quick-witted and caring makes me want to know him more. I would pay him in Oreos just to have that chance.
Tara, @2MuchPerfection, is one woman that I think would understand my rural upbringing. I’m drawn to her because she is beautiful, not just physically, but on the inside. I would love to get to know her more.
If I didn’t invite, @allconsoffun, @cjaxon, @crazysahm, @LittleAnimation, @SnglMomSurvives, @sillyfozzy,@MimiRuse, @MamaBennie, @MzFuller8, @aktracyg, @Ieatmykidzsnack, @IHavDefx, @MajorBedhead,@MsBatman, @mvaughnrn, @MarchMoon, and @grnladybug it would just not be a fun party. These ladies have gotten me through some really rough times. They truly are the life of the party for different reasons. Their quick wit, sarcasm, great timing, and at times that laughter that makes you want to grab-an-asthma-inhaler-it’s-just-that-funny are just some things that cannot be missed. I would love to get to know all of those ladies. I swore I am never friends with women, but I think they trump that notion.
I also follow a group I secretly call “The Rat Pack”, in a good way. They seem to always be together on Twitter, and I wish I got half of their inside jokes. @whymomdrinksrum, @chibijeebs, @trav1sty, @grace134, @LeftofLost, and @BiddyMcBidson may not live in close proximity to one another, but I’d swear they have some sort of special language amongst them.
There are many guys I follow on Twitter for different reasons. Some are just hilarious, but a lot of them that’s just not their only attraction for me. @InkPanther, @30yoteen, @plindman, @MadMan459, @audioper, @followrich2day, @JoeyHolllywood, @johncaveosborne, @lessdigits, @bluebombers, @uanmeintn, @Crackerwax, @Nemo487, @theironclad, and @AvionicsMan. Incredibly sensitive and kind in their own way, I am drawn to what they have to say and how they say it. I think if you look each of them up on Twitter, you’ll agree with me. I just wish I could know them in person.

Each of these people is so different in their own way. I can't image not including them! If I forgot your name, please don't take it personally!
This being a masquerade ball, I wonder if I could figure out each and every one of these people by just talking to them? Some, I already know what they sound like, so it wouldn’t be quite as difficult. The others, I would love to get to know before I ever knew what they looked like. Their choice of costume would tell me a lot about them. Of course everyone would be able to figure out who I am. I’d be the one with the princess tiara and carrying a Hello Kitty purse…

#tweets4sable joins the party wearing a black dress, only somewhat sheer, with a jagged edge. Matching gloves, to just above the elbow & black patent ankle strap heels. Purple edged Fairy-wings and a vintage velvet bag complete her costume.
Her makeup, flawless, using silvery dark eyes and pale nude lips. Even the tips of her lashes sparkle with crystals. Her dark hair in a tussled up-do.
Greeting our hostess #kitterztoo with a chilled bottle of #Dom ( #Krystal if U prefer) Gives her a warm hug, and whispers thanks for the invite.

Thanks for the invite! I would so come to your NYE party!! Hopefully I'll be able to make it to Blog Her this year and get to actually meet some of the wonderful people I've *met* online!
